Steinhoff International

Being Part Of Steinhoff International

Formed by Bruno Steinhoff in 1964, the company sourced furniture in Eastern Europe and distributed it in Western Europe. With the fall of Communism in Eastern Europe, Steinhoff changed from a marketing and distribution company to a manufacturer and distributor of furniture. After joining forces with GommaGomma, Steinhoff Furniture was formed in South Africa. Shortly after this, Steinhoff Germany, Steinhoff Europe and Steinhoff Africa consolidated under Steinhoff International. Steinhoff International has built a vertically integrated and geographically diverse business model, consolidating all points of contact from raw material to retail outlet, across an extensive product offering. Their strategy is one of sourcing and manufacturing in low-cost economies and then retailing in established markets, enabling them to offer quality home lifestyle choices for the most discerning customer. Steinhoff International's footprint covers southern and central Africa, the United Kingdom, Continental Europe, India, China and the Pacific Rim.
