Particleboard

Particleboard consists of wood fibres and a water-based urea formaldehyde (UF) resin. The product is therefore bio-degradable, making it recyclable. Recycling is a preferred method of disposal. This can be achieved by breaking the product down for composting. An alternative to recycling is energy recovery, where the product can be incinerated as fuel for boilers.

The recycling company will be able to provide guidance through the necessary processes and requirements. Ensure that the recycling company is ISO 14 000 accredited and compliant. ISO 14 000 provides more of an assurance that the particular company is environmentally legally compliant.
