Surinno Solid Surfacing

Surinno Solid Surfacing Material image

Virtually any surface application, be it domestic or commercial, can be achieved in Surinno Solid Surfacing. Surinno boasts all the beauty and luster of natural stone surfacing materials with none of the compromises or flaws. Its long-term durability, coupled with everyday practicality, elevates Surinno’s appeal, while its richly varied range of luxurious patterns and colours offers limitless design possibilities. With the backing of its exacting manufacturing standards and technical support close at hand, Surinno is undoubtedly the solid surface material of choice.

PG Bison’s locally manufactured, solid surfacing material, Surinno is a decorative, renewable surface innovation. Defined as a mineral polymer, Surinno consists of two thirds Aluminium Trihydrate (ATH) mixed with one third Acrylic Modified Polyester Resin as the binder. Its homogeneous nature (having the same material composition throughout its thickness) allows it to be repaired and renewed to its original finish while fabrication into continuous surfaces with inconspicuous seams or joints is also possible.

Surinno’s design flexibility is enhanced by its availability in flat sheets, moulded products or prefabricated worktops. Offering a non-porous and hygienic surface, Surinno is also stain and chemical resistant. Its solid, homogeneous structure, allows Surinno to retain its original beauty for many years, requiring minimum maintenance.

Performance Characteristics

  • Non-porous:
Unaffected by fluctuating moisture levels and humidity.
  • Consistent:
Offer consistency in composition, colour and pattern.
  • Hygienic:
The non-porous composition and seamless joints prevents mould, bacterial and microbial growth.
  • Heat Resistant:
Withstands day-to-day spillages of hot water, food and oil.
  • Stain Resistant:
Unaffected by most household staining agents and laboratory chemicals, however, always wipe away any spillages as they happen.
  • Durable:
Daily surface wear and light scratches can be removed with a kitchen pad and polishing compound. Heavier scratches can be removed by sanding and polishing the affected area.
  • Low Maintenance:
A daily wipe using non-abrasive cleaning agents will keep the surface clean.
  • Repairable:
The homogeneous structure (colour and pattern are consistent throughout the material) offers one of the few serviceable and repairable decorative materials. Scratches and burns can be removed with minimum inconvenience, while accidental damage can be professionally repaired and restored.
  • Fire Resistant:
Surinno Solid Surfacing meets the ASTM E-84 test as a 5 minutes self extinguishing material.

Surinno is thermoformable. In other words, the material is shaped and formed under heat. As it cools down, it retains its newly formed shape.

The dimensional stability of Surinno is primarily influenced by temperature, expanding and contracting with the movement in ambient temperature. This movement is calculated at one millimeter expansion or contraction per meter of material per 10oC increase or decrease in the material temperature. This must always be taken into consideration to ensure sufficient expansion gaps when planning the end product. External influences, such as appliances and machinery that might emanate extensive heat, must be taken into consideration.

Surinno is typically used in, but not limited to the following applications:

Work surfaces and counter tops Reception counters and nurses’ stations
Vanities, basins and bowls Bumper rails
Restaurant table tops

Products

Flat Sheet

High quality Surinno flat sheet material provides fabricators the versatility of forming customised three-dimensional shapes. Inconspicuous seamless joints can be used to give the impression of solid, one-piece unit designs.

Inlaying patterns, even corporate logos, provides another versatile aspect to this product, adding greatly to its aesthetic appeal.

Moulded Products

Surinno offers a range of fully integrated bowls and basins, blending elegance and practicality. Used in demanding commercial applications, including hotel bathrooms and the retail catering industry, they are specially moulded to be utilised in combination with Surinno flat sheet material. Hygienic integrated designs are achieved by means of under-mounting bowls to work surfaces, eliminating rims and edges that trap dirt and water. This adds to the longevity of the product as the seamless joins protect against moisture ingress and potential damage. Surinno also offers a variety of custom moulded products such as vanities and shower trays.
