PG Bison's Melawood is the leading brand in decorative MFB. Using either BisonBord or SupaWood as a substrate, a single sheet of melamine-impregnated, decor paper is bonded to both the board's surfaces under heat and pressure. This provides a durable, scratch and moisture resistant surface. (The board's exposed edges still need treatment to protect them against moisture ingress.) MelaWood is suitable for medium duty vertical and light horizontal applications, such as door and drawer frontals, carcassing, furniture components and shelving, as well as wall cladding and interior building elements. MelaWood is the ideal choice for kitchen, built-in-cupboard and case-goods applications. MelaWood is available in three surface finishes, Peen (a textured, stippled finish), Executive (a smooth, matt finish) and Ashwood (an embossed, wood grain finish).
